In the Old World ravaged by war and dominated by magic, you must rise up to face the Chaos hordes. I'd say consider picking it up if it's on sale. Fight Chaos in this ultimate version of Warhammer: Chaosbane, which includes the Tomb Kings expansion, all existing content and the new Witch Hunter class. If you want an ARPG to really dig your teeth into, this isn't it, but if you want a fairly light and casual ARPG to hold your attention for a bit, this might work for you. The loot suffers from the character stats / game system being a bit on the simpler side, and there's fairly limited variation in looks and effects and the crafting system is also very minor.Īll said, it's a game that might hold your attention for tens of hours, but not hundreds. There's a very limited set of maps and not much variation in the enemy types, the story is very rudimentary and basic and there is very little of actual lore given in the game (there is not even a bestiary) and the end-game modes doesn't really add much. They kind of hung the console fanbase out to dry on that one. All of us that purchased the Magnus or standard edition have to purchase the entire game again to get the updates. That is the only version that gets the 4k, 60fps updates. There's not a lot to the game content-wise, though. If you are playing on console, go with the Slayer edition to future proof yourself. The core gameplay loop is solid, sound and graphics are good (the voice acting less so, although it is serviceable for the most part.) It has good, but few, boss fights. There's not a lot to the game content-wise, though.
